This week has been a busy one here at Gloss! The team has been to a number of exciting events in Birmingham and beyond.
First up was The Breakfast Club, where we heard a keynote from the incredible Rachel Taplin in the comfort of the Everyman Cinema in the Mailbox Birmingham. She has been recognised as one of the top 50 UK Inspirational Women in the UK, and we learned about the principles you can apply and use yourself to gain media exposure for your business.
Since 2012, her business Media Matchmaker has been dedicated to helping and inspiring UK business owners to find their stories and secure positive publicity with PR and media training and access to a media database of UK journalists, influencers and bloggers. It was great to hear her words of wisdom.
The team then headed to the Asian Business Chambers of Commerce Networking and Vaisakhi celebration hosted at Aston University. We heard from freshly-appointed ABCC President Omar Rashid and Vice President Sapreena Kumari, before a great speech from Executive Director of Business Engagement at Aston University Mark Smith. The talks ended with a powerful keynote speech from Dr Amrit Chandan, founder and CEO of Aceleron. His talk ended with an inspirational quote about sustainability efforts: “A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit”.
Our Friday was jam-packed! We attended a business roundtable at Barclays Bank in Stratford-Upon-Avon for a discussion about the region’s economic prospects, ongoing challenges related to the cost of living crisis, and the implications for businesses for the year ahead. Special guest Nadhim Zahawi, MP for Stratford-upon-Avon, was there to give his first-hand views on these current issues, as well as other key issues linked to the local economy. Thank you to Narinder Dhandwar MBE for the invitation.
In the evening, we headed to our client Bijou Lounge’s grand opening night to celebrate their launch and capture some great content of the event. It was amazing to see the venue in action, and we cannot wait to continue working with them to help their brand to thrive.
What a week it was! A special thank you to all the individuals and organisations that made it all happen.
